Lauren Di Mella

Lauren Di Mella, An educator and mother, emphasizes the importance of providing tutoring support as soon as a child shows signs of needing it. She enrolled her five year old son Vinny, and in a short amount of time, has already seen remarkable academic growth.

“Thrive is excellent We started him at the end of April, and from then till now (June), he’s like a different child. He has about six letter sounds that he knows now, which he didn’t know before.”

Jessica has worked for Thrive for many years and we have a conversation about her role and experiences with The Thrive Center!

On a student who she’s seen improve due to services. “He still needs some help...but even his decoding, his reading and everything has gotten so much better”

“I’ve had a student for a few years now who, at the beginning, his attention span was so short, and he would get frustrated. But now I see him, and he’s able to express himself better and is able to conversate with me about his day. He is also able to sit still better and his reading has improved tremendously.”

Daphne Moss

An Assistant Principal with a history of referring students to The Thrive Center. We had a lovely conversation about her background and the impact Thrive has had on her students.

Daphne shares her thoughts on Thrive Center’s director, Liz Morales: “Liz is full of determination and She’s full of energy, laughter, and creativity that keeps the children and young adults involved and interested”.

“I would refer students to Thrive who had difficulties with reading or weren’t very social. But with a little encouragement, they could perform better. They demonstrated an improved attitude about school, reflected better attendance, grades, and higher reading and math scores.”
